An Interactive and Educational Experience for Young Explorers
Where Science, Nature, and Adventure Meet
Bridal Cave, in partnership with Thunder Mountain Park and the esteemed scientists of Esteem Education Co, is excited to introduce the Bridal Cave Underground University (BCUU) – a unique educational program focusing on the Ozarks’ karst topography. Designed specifically for 2nd to 8th graders, BCUU offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience that brings earth science to life.
A Comprehensive Educational Journey
- Pre-Tour Classroom Learning: Upon reservation, educators receive access to educational videos and a lab experiment for classroom participation, setting the stage for the upcoming field trip.
- Dynamic Program at the Park: This 2-hour program includes a fascinating tour of Bridal Cave, a nature walk in Thunder Mountain Park, and interactive learning activities. Students will explore the relationship between the surface and subsurface environments of the Missouri Ozarks.
- Post-Tour Classroom Engagement: After visiting, classes gain access to additional educational content and a lab experiment. Upon completion, each student receives a certificate of completion from BCUU, celebrating their achievement.
Unique Features of BCUU
- Dual Cave Exploration: Students will not only tour Bridal Cave but also experience Bear Cave with a special lantern tour featuring a Blacklight mineral display.
- Interactive Outdoor Classrooms: The nature walk includes educational stops, fostering active participation in a natural setting.
Availability and Reservations
- BCUU is available by reservation only, limited to one tour per day at 10 AM, with a maximum of 100 students to maintain the quality of the educational experience.
- Located at Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park, north of Camdenton, Missouri on State Highway 5.
How to Attend
- Reservations are required for groups of 20 to 100 students.
- Call Group Sales at 573-346-2676 between 9 AM and 4 PM daily to book.
- Admission Rates: $10 for students (2nd-8th grade), $20 for adults (13 and up).
- Teachers and bus drivers receive complimentary admission.
